Dutch croquettes

Dutch croquettes, "kroket" are very popular snacks in The Netherlands.
They are sold in Dutch fast food restaurants,  called ‘snackbars’.
The Kroket is a deep fried, breaded roll of meat ragout. They are typically eaten with mustard. The last time I tried one was in Amsterdam 16 years ago. It reminded me of cream of mushroom soup straight from the can, non diluted and deep fried. Ooohh, good stuff.
You just insert your debit card, yes you can pay by debit or cash, and the little door pops open and there you have it. Deep fried bliss.

This snack shop looked out of business,
but so charming and vintage.
