Stephane invited us to tag along for his business meeting
happening in Chamonix- Mont- Blanc last weekend.
It's about a 9 hour drive and if you cross the mountains you are in Switzerland and Italy.
It's mostly known for winter sports,
but we discovered there was lots to do and see in summer as well.
Here's our hotel, the front of it. Our room is in the back.
Seb is on our balcony taking in some air after a long but stressfree drive. On the side, hidden from view is the Arveyron river. We could hear it, but couldn't see it from our room.
After screwing our heads back on,
we took a nice long walk get over the car ride.
Cute little Chalet.....
On to Saturday ....
Here's the hotel where we met Stephane's clients for coffee.
The swanky entrance to the bar and restaurant.
And wouldn't you know it, I also ran into some parents of one of my students at Notre Dame.
The world is soo small sometimes.
Seb and I bummed around downtown while Dad was hard at work.
Then we got out of our city clothes, meeting finished,
and got to exploring.
We found lots of cool bones, horns and teeth which made their way back with us.
Who needs pricey souvenirs when you can just bring back skeletal remains.
The river originates from the snow of the mountains above.
We drank the water and lived to tell. I've never seen such icy blue clear water.
After dinner we went for one last walk before turning in.
We were hoping the train would pass over while we were in the tunnel, but no such luck.
We did come across some graffiti though.
Yes, we just had that much fun!
It was a great trip.
