A bit of the country

Here's a little fixer upper down the road from us. 

What I wouldn't do for that granite staircase.

 Our neighbor lady told us that back in the day this place was used as a stopover/hotel for horse and buggies. One the ground floor the two large open spaces were used for the carriages and horses. We checked it out and in the left garage/opening you can still see the hay in the holder on the wall and all sorts of tools and such.  

 You can see in the windows there's still some furniture left upstairs. 

My mushrooms are finally in the open air...

My one squash of the season. 

Let's hope it has time to ripen up before fall.

And Dad's birdhouse is still keeping watch.
