A few weekends ago we had the pleasure of being invited to our Sri Lankan friends' for dinner. Curry was on the menu and I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of the in progress. Samanthe went through some serious labour making us "string hoppers". It's rice flour, made into a dough, then put throught this press.......
then stacked up on these steamer mats and then steamed and served as little "noodle pancakes". This was accompanied by chicken and a vegetable curry. It was spicy but some of the best curry I'd ever had. A bit too hot for Seb, but he sure did enjoy the string hoppers.
Eagerly awaiting our next invitation.
