Nothing from the first week because I was sick for most of it.
I am self diagnosting safflower as the guilty party.
There are fields of safflower in bloom everywhere and I can smell it from a mile away.
Headache is soon to follow. I will go see my doctor one of these days to test my theory.
The second week at Chenedouit was quite productive.
The boys built me a step to acess the garden that we recently purchased from our neighbors.
The top picture was taken in Feb, the pic below was a few days ago. We cut back the bushes a bit and moved some granite stones to make an entrance.
Then we rented a rototiller and tilled both plots of soil.
This bad boy was awsome. Got the job done in an hour and a half as opposed to days if I would have done it by hand. And it was delivered to our door. We loved the bicycle handlebars. It did the job and then some and we still have both feet and ten toes each.
salade, carrots, radishes, herbs, cucumbers, spaghetti squash, pumpkins,
zucchini, brussel sprouts, onions, shallots, sunflowers and raspberries.
Crossing our fingers for rain and a bit of sun.
We painted the living room.
Reminder, this has been an ongoing project for years, hence the accumulation of things in the middle of the room. It's no fun and certainly not a challenge to paint with the room empty now is it?
All started well. As you can see I mixed the primer (this primer we had found in the garbage by the way, but seeing as waste not want not, we gave it a home.) All was well until I noticed it was seeping out of the bottom of the metal can onto our cement floor. What? no tarp under the bucket you ask? Well, no, not needed I'd say. Until it might be needed. Stephane got it all cleaned up, no trace.
Next visit...the after photos ! Sooo exciting.
Texas usually sleeps under Seb's blanket during the day.
I think he was waiting for Seb to vacate his bed.
A shot of the yard from our upstairs window....
Indian, our neighbor's poney enjoying our back field....
"Tasting" some of our endives. Not a big hit with Seb or the poney.
And of course, it wouldn't be a trip to the house without pulling out the deep fryer.
So long good arteries, hello homemade mini corndogs, french fries and onion rings.
