Dreaming of warmth....

Today is Mother's day here.
We had planned on going to the house with Annick.
BUT, since Seb has to be here to get his bandage changed and it's cool and rainy;
we'll be celebrating here.
Here are some shots from last weekend's heat and sunshine.

Our neighbor's perfectly stacked wood pile.

 Hedge trimmer Seb in action.
He did a great job and came out with all his fingers and toes which was a huge bonus.
Not to mention good looking hedges. It only took us 8 years to buy one.
It's been a life changer, right up there with hot water and the washing machine.

Before and after shot of my garden. Stephane graciously did all the digging up this year.
Having someone else turn your garden is a life changer too!
I haven't got much planted for the moment, cucumbers, zuchinni, pumpkin, and rows and rows of herbs. The bush on the right with the stake are raspberries.

With Seb's toe being out of service he's been devouring the Harry Potter books
that Annick gave him a few years back.
Enjoying the shade in his hammock at the same time.
Thank you Annick, Lynn and Mark.

And the last thing I did last weekend was make some Elderberry flower syryp.
You can add it to flat or sparkling water. It has a vanilla/almond taste. Good stuff. Stephane dipped the biscuits he used for our charlotte au chocolaté dessert for tonight. Should be good.

I also just came across a recipe for Elderberry flower jam and jelly. I'll have to try that next near. We always make jam out of the dark purple berries at the end of summer, but didn't know you could do the same with the flowers.

Art 101

During the confinement, Sebastian had to do this art project.
It was a good way to get outside but stay nearby. He had fun doing it,
incorporating found images into new scenery....
