Quote of the Month

So we've started visiting some apartments in the hopes of finding one to call our home. We were near the train station in Caen, urban, concrete, did I say urban? We pretty much knew we wouldn't be buying this one due to the neighborhood, but you never know. It's not dangerous or threatening as far as neighborhoods go, just a bit dungy and old.

Perhaps the apt. was going to be amazing, spectacular,  everything we were looking for and more. We hadn't seen the inside yet. We were looking up from the sidewalk, the apt. for sale was on the 3rd floor.
All of a sudden Seb busts out with …

"Are those bullet holes?"

The poor kid was soo taken aback at the thought of actually relocating to this neighborhood, he was finding "bullet holes" in the facade of the building. It was soo funny. He had me laughing for minutes. That made my weekend. And by the way, the apartment was not a winner, nor was the other one we visited later (in a non bullet hole neighborhood).
But we've only just begun and we are very patient people with incredibly good karma.
 the search continues…..

Sure look it!

So Seb went to Dublin for five days with 23 other 6th, 7th and 8th graders
for the Dublin book festival.

Here's the hostel they stayed at. Aside from the noise of the pub late at night, the heater being broken and the shower in the boys section not working apparently it was grand.

One of the nights they were there, they shopped and made their own dinner. The five sixth graders (including Seb) were in charge of making the dessert, fruit salad.)
No cut fingers or trips to the hospital!

Funny stuff….

I don't know which is funnier.
Seb's group with the girl in the unicorn getup
or the yellow bus full of tourists in viking helmets.

Here's the mascot they took with them.
Reminded me of Aiden on a stick traveling thru Europe.
