soccer and graffiti

So while the guys are practicing soccer…bouf…
I wander around shooting the neighborhood graffiti art.

I don't sweat as much, alright,
maybe not at all,  but hey, someone's got to be thinking
of keeping the dirty laundry under control.

Oh My God! SNOW!

Wed. morning we awoke to some snow.
Just enough to say it snowed.
Wouldn't even qualify by WI standards,
but for us here in Caen….
even the tram stopped running.

On the way to school…8:30am.

Seb and his friend Malcolm waiting for the school doors to open,
ready for the snowball fight to start. 8:35am.

Finally light out….9am.
And by 2pm, when Seb and I went out for our snowball fight,
everything had melted except for this tiny, tiny soccer ball sized snow man.

So, how strange to see this mound of snow/slush/ice on the soccer field today (Sunday) still intact. Guess there must be some micro climate happening on the soccer field, because it's been above freezing now for about four days.

Oh My God! SUNSHINE!

So, we headed to the beach
to soak it all in.

colorful trees...

colorful driftwood….

bottomless crab cages….

almost matching browns….

NFL training….

We all went home windblown and happy.

mudball

so yes, the field was a bit muddy

our New Year shenanigans

Sebastian and his cousin Zoe on New Year's eve.
They both lasted 'til 1am.
Love the matching ear accessories.

So after discovering that I barely made it thru this passage, a bit of excercise was in order. Forget resolutions, I just want to be able to walk down this alley (without turning sideways)….

Yes, the statue was shocked at our efforts, but there was no holding us back.

We felt like Forest Gump, just walking.

And last but not least….
the beginning of my ongoing series with the headless, one footed cowboy.
Lassoing whatever comes his way.

Decembering…..

 Wouldn't be Christmas without
our seafood and Christmas dessert.

And who celebrates Christmas without their eyepatches and masks.
(The eyepatch was compliments of our Christmas crackers….
apparently the fake mustache, which was also included, didn't get in a photo.)

And a shot of Sebastian modeling his new Puma underwear.
Yes, who celebrates Christmas without a gift of new underwear.
Who needs toys and fun stuff when you can have a new bathrobe and underwear.

More celebrating everyday of the year with our grammar mugs.
Forget to put the "s" after cow plural or mix up cravatte and crevette, or perhaps cereal with an "s" (so british). No longer. Guarenteed improvement after one week of tea drinking.

Our monogramed napkins from Mom (my favorite gift)…
and the stocking I made last year (and never photographed) for Sebastain.
