the beach

So because it measured in at a balmy, sunny, toasty 10 degrees today we headed to the beach. It had rained the night before and lots of wind, hence we found more things washed up on the shore than normal.
Of course you had the usual, lighters, shotgun shells, lots and lots of plastic. But we also found:
A crab cage for our future fisherman Sebastian...
A wild west sheriff complete with not one but two revolvers.....
A human ear????
For those that think the ocean is a toilet...this very appropiately themed toilet cake receptacle.
That mini bottle of the hard stuff complete with cap someone's been looking for.
Part of someone's study...
And a beautiful piece of ceramic destined for a future necklace. A good time was had by all. Have to love that sunshine!

happy valentine's day

I came across this spud in my bag of potatoes. Too close to the date, too perfect for words. I proudly lugged this potato around in my bag waiting for the right sun (yes that's right, here in Normandy you actually have to wait for the sun to shine). A big kiss to everyone!

Snow...

So what can you do with 1.5 inches of snow?
You can eat it....
You can make snow/gravel angels.....
You can get in with our Portland conterparts at building mini snow men.
This one was not ours but apparently we aren't the only people building modeled down snowpeople in the neighborhood.
And you can bomb your mom with snowballs. Good, clean, free fun...oh we love you our 1.5 inches.

Misc....

Sebastian and his loft bed. His posters and drawings are being put up with lighting speed. Someday we'll be looking for him and we won't find him. He'll be covered in posters.
Introducing the ever famous Texas. When he's not sleeping or eating or biting my toes at night he's all about cuddling.
And I was awaken this morning with "Sorry to wake you Mom, but there is snow on the sidewalks outside." I'm sure we'll be heading out later to build a mini snowman.
