Racing....

Our Sunday afternoon was spent watching a car race. Le 34ème "Course de Côte" was held near our house. They had cars of all types, cool old simca's all the way to your souped up toyotas.
And of course only Sebastian was lucky enough to get to sit in one. Future race car driver?
I will say this. It was a real eye opener to see the sub culture of french race fans and race car drivers.

space travel...

No that's not a time machine...but the 1st "smoking booth" that I'd ever seen. What bowling alley would be complete without one. Made me want to take up smoking just to be able to step inside.

Bowling with the champs.....

Nothing better than an afternoon of bowling to
help ease the pain of non stop rainy days.
Looking confident...yet relaxed

So serious and excited all at the same time. Sebastian and us ladies had a great time!

A day in the sticks....

The other Sunday there was a village fair. Tripes for lunch (we passed on the intestine eating...a bit too hot and a bit too early in the day) donkey rides, guess the weight of the suspended smoked ham, bb gun shooting, darts and lots of plain good old fashioned fun.
We have Sebastian's offical NRA card application in the mail, you are never really too young to own a gun after all. (Just kidding...) but he did enjoy the BB gun and so did the grown ups!

What form, what concentration....for never having used a bow and arrow before, Sebastian did really well!
And also worth noting...although I didn't get a picture, Sebastian also managed to win his parents a bottle of wine (because we are in France after all and apparently the offer of a crepe or soda wasn't too appealing). They had to throw petanque balls at empty upside down wine bottles and see how many you could shatter. Talk about super exciting glass flying fun! Can't imagine how no one was blinded by flying glass. Can't wait for next year!

Now that's tough...

Proudly showing off his latest bruise, greaser style.

The bubbler...

Yes, not drinking fountain, bubbler.
I couldn't resist taking this clip of poor Sebastian trying to quench his thirst. He just needs a few more centimeters and he'd be there.

A fishing day to remember....

So we secured our one day fishing permit and as it turned out, it rained all day long. I mean all day long. We tried hard salami, cheese, bread and contrary to my childhood memories, none of the forementioned seemed to work. No bites.
So after taking a break for lunch and changing into some dry clothes we managed to find some earthworms and were ready to try again.
Three hours later...this is what we ended up with. A big, really big crawfish. That's it. We did have a good time trying though. Who knows...maybe fish aren't very hungry when it rains.

fun in Paris

We spent the afternoon in Paris with some of Stephane's clients last week. Their daughter Ivy and Sebastian played very well togoether. Hope we get the chance to visit again one day....
And here are the boys blowing off some steam on the track. This was before Sebastian accidentally slammed into a fellow driver and her father stalling their car in the turn.
