It's a bird, it's a plane

No it's Rasta Stephane. You know, Stephane has really been hittin' the gym, pumping iron, running, eating only raw vegetables. Hence his muscle mass is a bit more defined. The only thing is that he forgot to put on his sun block. Note that he did remember his sunglasses. Now that is the Stephane that we all know and love.

Rasta, rasta...

So the other night we headed off to the Rasta Festival. Our friend had a workshop on kites. Sri Lankain kites to be exact, Sri Lankain fighting kites to be even more exact. Sebastian was so hyped up he couldn't stop running trying to ket his kite up. (There was no wind). He didn't crash and burn until the car ride home around 10:30. Good music, great food and perfect weather.

Cousin alert! Cousin alert!

Sebastian and Noah

We were lucky to have seen Fredo, Lori and Noah for a few days. The two cousins had a swell time goofing off. The beach, two dogs to chase, two cats to bother and each other to keep it from getting boring. I will admit my favorite thing was that they reminded me of our family Christmas pictures from way back when when all of us kids had coordinating outfits. In their case it was not planned, just luck.

The Kermesse

The Kermesse is the end of the year festival the kids have at school. Good clean, wholesome fun. Each child had a round paper "necklace" with all of the games listed. When they finshed each one, they got a check on their card and at the end redeem their card for a prize.
So here is Bobo calling his amigos to make sure they were coming to the party.
My men looking good. Taking a photo pause from the giant checkers match.
Giant dominos anyone?
The old school version of "emergency". You had to hold the handle while manouvering along the rod without setting off the light. Yeah.....you can see the tension, the concentration, the drive....
And my personal favorite were the downhill time trials. Skiing on grass...nothing better to make you look really, really smart. What do we care...we were having fun!

Dancing....

So as part of the Kermesse, each class had a performance followed up by all the kids singing songs together. Olivier (Sebastian's teacher) is the man sitting in the green chair playing the guitar. Soo cool. No sound on the dancing or songs as our camera is far from new, but you get the point. Sebastian is with long time classmate Zelie. He wasn't too keen on me putting the dancing videos on the blog, but I couldn't resist.

What's up Doc?

Salad is up, that's what. Everything is still alive and well in spite of our on again off again visits. Thankfully it's been rather rainy around here recently.
This artichoke plant is the newest addition to the garden. To be continued next spring.

the Animal Kingdom....

Alive and well at Chenedouit. I didn't have a ruler handy, but let me tell you. This was the biggest beatle that I've seen around in quite some time. 4 or 5 cm?

Of course I couldn't not give you an update of the little sheep's progress in our back field. So here they are...mama included.

Chenedouit treasures....

Super jazzed about this tin of fishing hooks.

There's me and the man taking a ride....loving esso gasoline.
One of three bike seats uncovered amid the hay and cobwebs.

the new bike

Watch out Evil Knievel...Super Sebastian is back. Sporting his super smart yellow and black hornet of a speed machine, a helmet is mandatory for these record breaking feats and skids.

Our weekend hike

Since it was soo blistering hot this weekend we went to the shade of a nice creek/small river to spend the afternoon.

We ran into a man fishing trout, hence the picture. He made us want to run out and get our one day fishing permit. Next time, now that we know the spot.
