Our Weekend....

Chenedouit.....

Here's what you get after not mowing the grass (if you can call it that) for two months. It took us all day and we still hadn't finished all the edging because it's just too long for the mower & weedwacker...hence I was doing it by hand. In 27 degree full sun.....that'll teach us!

Getting the goods for our much deserved BBQ

A drawing of Sebastian's on the side of the house.
Checking to see if we have enough wood for the upcoming winter months.
And last but not least...posing in front of our neighbor Pierre's cool tractor.
If it had a name, the tractor that is, I'm sure it would be Hank, Pete or Buck. I vote for Hank.

Friday night before shoving off for the country of overgrown grass, we went to a reggae festival nearby for a change of pace. I didn't get any good shots of the amazing heads of dreadlocks that graced the event, but I was able to capture Sebastian doing an Iggy Pop improv. I know, it was reggae, but Iggy Pop just somehow made it in there. Pardon the lack of sound...our camera isn't what it used to be.

A snack at the beach...

Above ....my goddaughter Maddie looking super satisfied after eating a few sandcakes. I am very proud that she is open to trying new things..again and again and again. I am even prouder of her Mom for letting her. No fear.
And here is Maddie and Carih (behind the hat) splashing around.
Sebastian and Amelia torn between throwing rocks and building sand castles.

Half in the bag....

Here is Sebastian proudly sporting his ticket for his friend Amelia's dance performance. She did really great and we were honored to be invited! Seb did perk up after this photo.
And here he is for his school concert. Looking off in the distance for something....it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's.... Mom didn't wake me up quite early enough. (2nd row on left in front of the green door) He sang really well, but yes, he could have used 10 extra minutes of wake up time.

Summer we love you.....

Sebastian started off on the right foot to ring in the first day of summer. We met Dad at work, had a croissant at 6pm followed an hour later by this super rich and delicious chocolate ice cream cone. All that followed by some excellent music, for "la fete de la musique" including our neighbor who we stopped to see in his Christian religious rock band. Also worth noting...I took a few really good videos of Sebastian dancing but had the camera turned the wrong way, thus they are all sideways. Boo on Mom! We headed home by a resonable 8pm at which point Sebastian completed his summer feast with a normal dinner. Yes, he still had room.

Cooking....

Getting back to the real world after a weekend of fine food...Sebastian tried his hand at making an omelette with chives he cut from our balcony. It was a success and according to the little man even "excellent". It's the little things in life.

The Wedding

Stephane's cousin Arnaud and his partner Audrey tied the knot this past weekend. The weekend was great, not a one picture of the blushing bride and groom however since the official photographer (Stephane) was using someone else's camera. I did take a few misc. shots of the down time after the town hall and the day after festivities ....swimming/lunch. Enjoy!
Audrey the blushing bride and her daughter Zoe soaking up some sun.
You can never be too sure when you'll need a qualified cowboy around to rustle up some cattle.
The boys....

The weather, company and surroundings were beautiful. Not a sour face in sight.

The horse checking us out on our way to town hall. It was about a 2 minute walk.
Arnaud & Audrey rode back to the house from the town hall on this quad. Sebastian and friend thought they'd check out the fluid levels and timing before hand.

Loose tooth update.....

No changes since the last post. I guess I was a bit over anxious for that puppy to fall out. We had a full tooth smile for the wedding.

Loose tooth alert!!!!!

So Annick and I were just talking about when Sebastian might start to loose his teeth. I kid you not this was a few hours ago. We were also joking that the one tooth that he had bumped a while back and resulted in turning a bit grey would be the last one to go. And then after dinner, in the shower Sebastian and Stephane called me in. Much to my surprise they showed me his grey tooth has started to wiggle. I guess it was just a matter of time. Will it fall out before this weekend when we will be all pretty and dressed up for wedding photos? I'm sure of it.

Here it is....tooth number one. (And don't worry, we didn't write directly on his tooth.) Hey, this is big news here. Big news. Stay tuned.
Field HockeySebastian tried his hand at field hockey for the first time yesterday. He seemed to like it...ran for the entire hour.
The result of all that running.

He can't actually sign up for the club until September, but since the coach is a friend of Stephane's and since Sebastian can use all the help he can get at interacting with kids of his own age who he doesn't know, it's a good excercise for him. The coach was even nice enough to send Seb home with two canes and a ball to tool around with over the weekend. To be continued....

Twinkle twinkle

And here is Mr. Super Smiley transformed into Mr. Blue Steele. Serious, but not too serious...just that twinkle in the eye for the girls to catch.

Mr. Smiley

Here he is making another last minute personal apperance Mr. Super Smiley. a.k.a. Sebastian (no middle name) Briere.

More treasures....

Packrat......

Yes, I am turning into a packrat. But who could pass up these beauties. These amazing tops are all hand stitched and inspite of the bad lighting are really rich as far as color goes.

This one is probably destined for a 1 year old or younger...too bad for me.

This emerald green and white boy's top will fit Sebastian one of these years. It's from Greece and in good shape considering it's been around.
Soo cute...makes me want a baby girl.
