Mr. Businessman

Here he is...playing banker. Sporting his super snazy cute haircut (thanks Mom).

He was super excited to rediscover his tie and watch. We had brought the suitcases up from our cave to start packing things, so they served as his business trip tools. He was taking the TGV (high speed train) going to Spain, then later changed his mind and was President Obama spending the night on an airplane.
Most kids play fireman, police, teacher, today it was businessman. We'll see what next week brings.

our day at Chenedouit

The boys in the middle of a snowball fight...I opted out to pick some holly.

the last laugh....

So a little follow up post to the snow adventure. The last laugh was on me because although I made it to work fine on Friday on my bike...as I arrived one block from work in the morning, I got a flat tire. I can't keep up with Stephane's service/reparation fees! I huffed it home after work walking with my bike....50 minutes later, the joy of arriving home. Needless to say if Santa brought me a new bike I wouldn't refuse.

It Snowed...

An inch or two of the white and fluffy stuff and already people were not able to drive in it. I witnessed a car carrier (the double decker kind) which had jack knifed trying to turn into the car dealership driveway. Traffic was blocked...thankfully it was going in the other direction.

We will see just who has the last laugh tomorrow morning...will I take my bike, the car (not likely due to the incompetent drivers) or the bus...if they are running!? Stay tuned.....

gone baby gone....

That blasted gray tooth is finally out of there. It's been hanging around taunting us for several days now, laughing at us, I'm not leaving, no matter what you try and eat .... we were starting to think a visit to the dentist would be in order. Tooth number 3.....gone and Sebastian couldn't be happier.

disgusting . . . .

So I couldn't pass this up.
I even drove around the block to get a picture when I realized that I had my camera with me. Sebastian had a hard time understanding why I would want a pic of something this "gross", and gross it was. Smelled like the bird area at a zoo....this car must have been here for a while. Please, enjoy the close up.

Too bad we don't know more about mushrooms, because we found the spot while walking through the woods this weekend. These two seem to scream out...."do not eat me".
The last from my humble garden for the year....

for Nick....

Here are my paintings of Bumblebee and thrust. Sebastian.

A five minute walk....

So after living in this neighborhood for over a year, I thought I had discovered all of the good nooks and crannies. Oh I was soo wrong. Sebastian and I wandered around today in the wind and cold and discovered this great park behind the memorial situated right by our house. The ducks were really quite disappointed to discover we had nothing to offer them.

Our fall colors....

Tadah!

the phone call.......

According to Sebastian, he was on the phone with the bank....trouble with his file. (How he loves pretending he works like his dad ...banks, loans, files, loans, more banks.)

A nippy day at the beach.....kite flying, kicking the ball and finding treasures like this jeep nestled in amongst the shells and crabs.

After seeing this line of cars waiting to fill up at the gas station (the refineries are on strike) I sure was happy to have my super duper snazzy bike complete with cute little basket that I recouped this weekend.

Busy, busy, busy....

That's the word around here lately. Even Sebastian is finding himself ready for a vacation. (Thank heavens we live in France and his school vacation is a mere 2 weeks away.) So here are the only two shots we've taken as of late. Sebastian in full form playing field hockey. He sure is dashing in his uniform and the way he gallops around the court like a gazelle is pretty charming as well....I could go on and on...

Our spare time....

and trying out some new hats.

a weekend in the sticks

Tractors and tatooed cows...

Not afraid of trying some corn on the cob in spite of missing two bottom teeth. We are however lacking the proper corn holders...Christmas gift idea??

Mr. Sebastian Serious on the ping pong training set.
Some new friends of Sebastian's who live down the road. As much as I'm not too into donkeys, these guys sure were cute.
This hike to pick blackberries turned into getting lost and making it back home after a total of 4 hours. Those 8 jars of jelly we made sure were worth it though. ...even Sebastian said, "hey, this is reeaalllyyyy good."

A day at the beach....

So much seaweed, so little time.

lost tooth #2

So at dinner Sat. night, Sebastian was getting very frustrated and we didn't know why. Turns out he said he had a loose tooth which was bothering him while he was eating. Well....Stephane to the rescue.....he asked if Sebastian wanted to leave it and continue eating, letting it fall out when it's ready or if he wanted it to be pulled out.

Sebastian is not one for uncomfortable situations and would rather suffer a second of pain than continue with an "annoyance".
Some people chew their nails, pick scabs or eat glue. Although he does none of these things, bless his soul, Stephane's eyes do light up when the idea of pulling a tooth comes up. It could be worse. Five seconds later Sebastian's cute little tooth was out and he finished off his meal and was ready for dessert. Such a bunch of men, I have to love them.

Saturday Exploring ....

Heck, there is always tomorrow to do something productive. (And let's not forget, we did cut the grass and pull some weeds.)
We found this charming river on the other side of a dam 5 kilm/ from our house. (This dam wasn't interesting enough to take any photos, just your typical run of the mill dam.) Despite the signs warning of danger from a release of water at any time resulting in instant death or being crushed against granite boulders, we ventured on. Those late weekend breakfasts (I stress the word late) sure boost your confidence.

I hope to get back here to trap some crayfish. That is after I do some research to see if this would be a suitable place to catch some. It sure seems like it to me. (After all that experience from when I was 6 or so at Christie's cottage.) We followed the river for nearly 3 hours, I am sure there must be some hiding under some of those rocks.

Somewhere between exploring....

Sebastian turned into a fan of "the Matrix" and has started to do free publicity for Coca-Cola....
Sebastian has become pained by his mother's incessant picture taking. (No that's not plastic surgery gone wrong, Sebastian can really make this face all on his own.) The friend is our neighbor's grandson who was nice enough to come over for a few hours and play.

I grew a tail and a penis. No one else seemed to notice or was to embarrassed to tell me. A great weekend of wild discoveries.
