my favorite shot...

The neighbor's sheep grazing on our grass, in our field, overlooking our shed and house. Probably as close as we'll come to having a farm. What more can you ask for. Free lawn maintenance, no upkeep required, no contract fees, hefty down payments or livestock knowhow. Only the very faint sweet smell of fresh sheep dodo wafting through the air as you are hunched over gathering hazelnuts ..... ooh.... to dream.
little farmer boy...

Coolest birthday gift ever.

At no time in my recent memory has a gift hit home like this one. Heavy as hell, totally uncomfortable, not to mention a hazard for my early onset brittle bone diagnosis (only kidding).

Thank you Carih, you are the best treasure hunter out there. I love them.

The stars have nothing on me.

A clerk in London recently asked Stephane, "Where do you get your hair colored? It's just like George Clooney" Always one step ahead-
The PERFECT wheelbarrel
We made 12 jars of blackberry jam. That's gelée actually...no seeds,no pulp. Only pure juice strained with a towel, add sugar and love.....sublime.

I was really happy to discover this granite wall which makes an "L" around the corner of our lot. Now all I have to do is to finish to uncover it....get all the weeds out.....get all the weeds out a second time....plant.... tune in next year.

The thirst...determination...and the victory!

I know what you are saying..."isn't that a bit dangerous?" well, not as much as you'd think. Sebastian understands very well that the hospital is a 30min drive and has assured us that his tetanus shot is up to date. He also comprehends the concept of keeping sharp pointed objects at least 1 full inch from his eyeballs. So thanks for worring...I assure you that both state and local officials have seen the footage and were actually impressed by the care we are giving both our soil (who tills by hand these days...?) and our child (in the form of good old fashioned excercise).

"The man"....

looking good....... (and        knowing it)
...spreading the love and getting it done with a smile.

.....getting back to nature.

and his favorite man...

sunshine, bib overhalls and cool sunglasses...

Thank you Mom for the great old pictures...one of my favorites in front of Lake Michigan
(we sure were a stylish bunch...and how is it that thirty some odd years later I have almost the same haircut...)
